According to reports, at about 6.45 hrs, Pertab Kumar, called ‘Ravi’ of Lot 160 Uitvlugt, also on the West Coast Demerara, was in the family stall in the market when a man pressed a gun to his head and relieved him of the black bag containing the gold jewellery and other articles.

The gunman then escaped on foot.
Reports state that the stolen jewellery weighs some 15 pennyweights of gold and is the property of the victim’s aunt, who operates the jewellery stalls.
The Police are investigating.
