Relatives are trying to locate the owner of a bodywork shop, who has been missing since last Friday.

Missing: Joel Sooknarine

Joel Sooknarine, 30, of Best Foreshore, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, disappeared shortly after contacting his reputed wife, Reshma Singh, by phone, to tell her that he was going to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.

His car, a white AT192, PGG 4664, was also missing, but was located yesterday afternoon in Campbellville.

Reshma Singh told Kaieteur News that she last saw her reputed husband at around 07:00 hrs on Friday when he dropped her off near the Vreed-en-Hoop Stelling.

She said that at around 20:00 hrs, Sooknarine called her to say that a friend had asked him to go to the airport. Kaieteur News also confirmed that Sooknarine had taken two of his employees to the Providence Stadium on Friday night. One of the friends said that Sooknarine had told them that he was going to Wales, West Bank Demerara, for a short while.

Reshma Singh said that since then, she has been unable to contact her reputed husband on his two cell phones.

She has since informed the police.

“I just want to know that he is alive and well,” she said.

At the time of his disappearance, Sooknarine was wearing a black jersey with silver dots; black jeans and a pair of black boots.

Persons with information about his whereabouts can contact Ms. Singh on 615-7920 or the nearest police station.
